Stayed at Palazzo Pio III, via dei Goti in Sarteano, Tuscany for four nights in late July, 2025. Our sixth time in Sarteano so we know the town well. We parked in a field on the edge of town after dropping off our bags at the b&b. Our host Chiara was most welcoming and our room on the first floor was extremely comfortable and attractive and the bathroom was splendid. I was struck by the level of detail in the furnishings and furniture in this most interesting building. The edging of the sheer curtains in our bedroom was a delight – blue zigzag stitching over fine cording. Then a faux skirting defined by a thin blue painted line. Great care had been taken here. The breakfasts were very good. The croissants exquisite. Chiara offers cooking lessons and I regret not taking any in order to learn how to make her croissants. Another time.

We spent three nights here, Chiara made us breakfast every morning and it was delicious, yummy home made cakes and biscuits! everything about this place is so homey and cosy yet sofisticated at the same time, I loved the little details that have been put into this hotel! Our room had the loveliest little curtains with a tiny green rim around the edge that just tied everything together, we slept so peacefully there. Guido helped us with organising day trips in the Val D'orcia and booking the tastiest most genuine local restaurant and really they both made us feel like part of their Italian family and I can't wait to go back! Thank you for the best vacation in Italy, after covid it was just what we needed!
