Stay period: 31-Dec-2025 to 01-Jan-2026 (2 nights) Our stay at Sumitel Hotel, Pelling was highly disappointing, especially considering the premium prices charged during the New Year period. To begin with, welcome drinks were clearly mentioned as part of the provisions, but none were offered on arrival. When asked, the staff had no clear response. A major issue occurred regarding the New Year Gala Dinner. The charges for the gala dinner were already included in our room tariff and fully paid in advance, yet we were still asked to pay an additional ₹500 per person at the venue. Despite repeatedly explaining this, the staff insisted on extra payment. Only after nearly half an hour of resistance and argument were we finally allowed to attend the dinner without paying again. This situation was stressful and completely unprofessional, especially on New Year’s Eve. Cleanliness was another serious concern: — Cigarette buds were found in the washroom — Cobwebs were present in the rooms — Tables were not wiped properly, with visible oil stains For a hotel claiming premium standards, this level of housekeeping is unacceptable. Additionally, we had booked multiple premium-category rooms, and one of them did not even have a coffee table, while other rooms in the same category did. This inconsistency reflects poor attention to room standards and quality checks. Overall, the service was extremely slow and below par, despite the hotel charging a very high tariff. Requests were not handled promptly, and the staff lacked professionalism and coordination. Given the price paid and the expectations set by the hotel, the experience was far from satisfactory. There are much better-managed and more honest options available in Pelling, and unfortunately, I would not recommend Sumitel Hotel based on our experience.

Highly recommend! I recently travelled with my family to this hotel and we had a wonderful stay. The property is clean, comfortable and well maintained. A special mention to Suden Sherpa, who was extremely courteous, helpful and very cooperative throughout our stay. His friendly nature and willingness to assist made our experience even better. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting. Looking forward to coming back again!

Had a great experience with the hotel. The staff is super polite and are great host. Suden Sherpa was always there to help with local guidance and the ambience is very nice, the food is amazing.

Very best experience at sumitel hotel pelling beautiful view nice and clean property and the food was very good and all the staff was good specially thanks to f n b team for giving there best service and time to us we really feel happy with there services mainly miss Seema Mr nischal mr prabesh and miss suden thankyou everyone for ur care..

Seema, suden, and prabesh service staff of restaurant they were very supportive and very kind always had a smiling faces and never disappoint us with there services also the food was delicious and the atmosphere was awesome we will be coming back again surely.
