Huge palace built in 1930s with all the original paintings and furniture. The renovation has retained all its character and avoided turning it into an American style luxury hotel, thankfully. The hosts were charming and most interesting. We loved looking around the farm but the City Palace tour is the absolute highlight - leave plenty of time for it. The museum within has excellent English signage so we learnt a lot. Most amazingly the Maharani is on a clean up campaign so some of the town streets were free of litter, and the City Palace spotless.

Spent two nights in this Raj era Palace for the Maharajas of Karauli. They are a very ancient line of kings and are so kind and willing to share stories of their family. The Palace in which they still live was built in 1938 after they moved out of the City Palace where Madan Mohan Temple is still thriving. There are 50 acres of farm with a few beautiful Marwar horses, farm animals and organic gardens. Peakocks abound. The breakfast (included) was top notch and served as if we were royals. Our experience may be a bit different from other reviewers as were were the only guests. Pretty special. Our room was spacious and and nicely furnished.. The real reason to stay here though, is the Maharaj's connection with the Madan Mohan and Kaula Devi temples and the CityPalace. Definitely let them guide you to these sites as they have special access. We went to mangal arti at Madan Mohan . The 4:30 AM service was amazing. The people very welcoming of us, the only videshis present in this major pilgrimage site.

Beautiful property with a lot of history and historical artifacts. Please note that the property does not have lifts so if climbing stairs is an issue it would be best to request the ground floor accommodation. Staff were very polite Mahendra Singh was a great guide. Nature was abound with beautiful birds/peacocks and dogs. The suites are definitely the rooms to book and have the better bathrooms. Great for a one or two night stay

Such an amazing place, full of whimsy and beauty and history. It's truly a hidden gem in all of India that cannot be missed. If you are in Delhi or going to see the Taj Mahal, make a little detour and see the real parts of India! The beauty and the history is unmatched. Within every nook and cranny of this palace is details of art and design and fashion that is incredibly unique. The hosts are amazing and some of the nicest people I have ever met. The food was some of the best I had in all of India - home cooked, fresh and delicious! As a world traveler that has been to many places, I cannot recommend enough Bhanwar Vilas Palace. The location is great with many temples, safaris and other things to do. The Karauli Palace is breathtaking, go early in the morning for sunrise or go for sunset, both spectacular. I had the most amazing time with a really great person and these memories will stay with me forever, I already miss this place and her. THANK YOU BHANWAR VILAS FOR SUCH A BEAUTIFUL MEMORY!

We were very warmly welcomed at Bhanwar Vilas Palace which is a lovely old palace. We only stayed 1 night during our tour of Rajasthan in December 2024, but enjoyed an excellent dinner and hearty breakfast in the large, richly decorated dining room. The service is really excellent. Our room was large, very clean and quiet, with rather old-fashioned bathroom fittings. We had the opportunity to chat with the prince in the evening around a brazier. It was a very pleasant moment. With a Bhanwar Vilas Palace employee, we visited the magnificent city palace, one of the oldest in the country, and the adjoining temple.
