The picture shown is the Quality Inn building on the same property. The Econo Lodge is in the back and off to the side. The outside of the Econo Lodge looked like an abandoned building. The lobby is in the Quality Inn. A homeless looking guy walked in ahead of me and requested a room for a week for himself and his 2 cats. He was turned down because they only allow dogs. We were directed around to this abandoned looking building. There were curtains askew, trash and cigarette butts around the parking lot. You could see boxes and things stacked against the windows. We only went in because a handyman was there. The foyer carpeting looked like something from the 1960's and it was very badly stained. Our room had stained pillowcases, the bathtub had been painted and the paint was peeling. The heater was hanging away from the wall, the smoke detector was missing. And the worst, the large window backed up to a broken cinder block retaining wall with a gutter. The curtains could not close all the way so anyone could look into the room through the 1 foot gap. We went back to the lobby and said we would not stay there. It did not feel safe and it was dirty. There seemed to be people who were "living" at the motel. We paid an additional fee and were given a room in the Quality Inn portion, which was better, but the place is still run down, there is an abandoned shopping center across the street, and a man in the hotel parking lot was coughing up yellow mucus and spitting it all over the parking area.

We were disappointed in our room as we have usually had good experiences at Econo Lodges. While everything looked newly painted and fresh, the room had been sprayed with fragrance and there was no screen on the sliding door, so no way to air out. The desk chair was broken, refrigerator buzzed loudly, blankets were stained, and my husband saw a cockroach in the bathroom. It's lovely to be right downtown by the art festival, but we won't be staying there again.

This was a clean hotel with a good reception staff. The room was good for what was paid and it was the cheapest accommodation available for a James Madison University Football game. The place was secure with plenty of parking and housekeeping kept the room neat and tidy. Furniture was wiped well and noise level was not much. There is a free breakfast in the morning. The hotel has two brands: Quality Inn and Econo Lodge. Lots of things to do around Waynesboro, including Skyline drive.

We stayed here one night and the building was older but it was good for our stay . Staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great ! My only complaint is the carpet in the hallway needs shampooing. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean .
