I didn't stay at the hotel but I used their transfer service to visit the Ancient Khorezm fortresses. We were supposed to visit Kyzyl Qala, Toprak Qala, Ayaz Qala and Janbas Qala. The car was very nice. Zufar, the owner, was very friendly and brought along a guy who spoke English. He offered us a delicious watermelon and bought a melon for us. But then he cheated us, saying that the second fortress of Ayaz Qala in the nearby hill was actually Janbas Qala. That was not the case as Janbas Qala lies at 49 km from Ayaz Qala. We had just arrived from a long red eye flight and didn't have time to check the location of the fortresses on the map. When later I confronted him on that he gave me the lame excuse that was what guides have told him when he was a kid!

We were very disappointed with this hotel. A kind man helped us with our suitcases to our 2nd floor room. The two rooms were large and spacious. However, the bathroom had not been cleaned properly - bathmats and toilet mats were dirty. One of the handtowels was stained. Only one bathtowel was left on the bed, but we booked for 2 people. There was an undersheet on the bed, which was crinkled & looked used, and no top sheet. I asked the lady at reception for the room to be properly cleaned, and she said Yes, but nothing was done. We slept in our clothes on the bed, lying on one of our own sarongs. We left very early next morning and the hotel provided us with a breakfast box. The same kind man drove us to the airport. I have never had to write a review like this before. I can only hope the hotel makes sure there are high cleaning standards in the future.
