Just returned with very mixed feelings. Our room was first class with bathroom, shower and jacuzzi (sp). The outlook was south over car parking. Food was almost dreadful - breakfast was always same with 'plastic' cheese and reformed ham, and rubberised scrambled egg. There were also cereals, breads and croissants. Evening meal offered choice of a fish or meat, with cold , over cooked vegetables. I doubt anything was cooked on the premises. There was NEVER any cooking smells. Drink is cheap. Hose wine is palatable at €8. Per bottle, and small beer €1.50. The hotel is situated by the beach but the sea is 'out of bounds ' as it shelves steeply into a rough sea which would carry away almost anyone who chose to enter. The hotel is quite isolated. We were able to walk to nearby bar, 10+ minutes down the approach road where by the roundabout there ere two very welcoming bars. If you are not too good on your feet this could be a problem. Along side the hotel, running parallel with the sea is the / a pilgrim route to Santiago. You can use this to walk south to Povoa de Varzim ( about 40+ minutes) or north to the next village with a mini market and several eateries - ( 15+ minutes) It is a family run hotel, sometimes a little short staffed but everyone is very helpful and everywhere is clean. Very much let down by food offerings.

First, the "superior suite" is just a bedroom with a small bathroom and a balcony, don't think is something else better. And the furniture was old and not pretty at all. When we arrived we noticed the sheets had stains and they left us the bath towels, wet, on the bed (of course we had to hang them, for them to dry). They didn't tell us the check out hour here on Booking, and when you arrive the employee told us we had to leave between 10 and 11am. The worst part of the experience was the noise. Since 7am there was a door constantly slamming and people shouting out loud, showing no respect for the ones that were still trying to sleep. And, at 10h00 a person actually tried to come into the room where we still were. 60 euros for this kind of experience is too much. In Portugal or Spain you can find hotels at 40 euros per night with much better conditions and, of course, respect for the costumers. This place worths no more that 25 euros per night.
