We booked this place quite late in the afternoon (around 5.30pm), after we had a horrible experience earlier in the day, not being able to get a rental car that we paid for on beforehand. We decided to take a train to Taranto, that left at 6.20pm from Bari central station and would arrive around 7.50pm in Taranto. After booking our room, we saw the notification of the owner (on the *********** website), that we could pick up the key only until 7pm from the bar that resides beneath the room. We were not able to make it at that time, so we sent a phone message to the number that was provided by the owner on the *********** website - it should be available 24h for service, as was stated on ***********: "We are available h24, for any request please contact the number 3922143969". That number did NOT work, and once we arrived, we got no one answering that number when we called it. Only later (the following day), we realized the owner had sent us a message through *********** (to pick up the key at another bar), but as only me and not my girlfriend had the *********** app installed (and I had no roaming & needed to have WiFi to send/receive messages), we were not able to see that message that evening. In any way, we managed to talk to a woman that was outside standing in an alley close by, and she helped us tremendously, she made one or two calls and could tell us that we could pick up the key at the other bar. After arrival there, the waiter did not know about anything, had to ask his boss, and in the end, it worked, and we got the key. If we had not bumped into that woman and asked her, and she would not have been able to help us, we would certainly not have gotten the key! Availability for 24h should indeed MEAN 24h availability for service and not just sending back a message through the *********** website (only in Italian), that we did not see, as explained above. The owner did not make sure at all that all was ok and that we indeed got the key. But the above 'only' describes 1 issue, for us the most important one, otherwise we would not have gotten into the apartment at all. Some other issues, actually not less important: We stayed in room number 1, the first apt to the left, after climbing the stairs. Photos of this room seem not to be present neither here on TA nor on ***********, through which we booked. There appeared to be a used towel and used toiletries in the bathroom. Not a clean bathroom on top of that. It was evening and we were very tired, so we did not even bother to have a closer and proper check of the cleanliness of the property. Moreover, electricity went out at some point and did not come back until the next morning. In the 'main' room, there was not a couch, chair or table present, so we sat on the floor. The bed had a bad mattress, and the ceiling is very low; my girlfriend, who is much smaller than me, bumped her head multiple times when going to the toilet at night.
