Not a four star hotel at all - closer to two. Management of the place is poor: our bedroom wasn't cleaned while we were there and no sign to hang up to request it to be cleaned. No bin in the room. No furniture on the balcony to sit out on. We had no water on the second day and had to be moved from our block. We were moved to a room where the security box was faulty and beeped throughout the night. The wifi kept cutting out. The worst thing though is the way they communicate - nothing about treatments when we arrived even though it is an ayurvedic resort and we had to ask what was available and then they quoted different prices for the same thing to my daughter and me. At night there is nobody on reception so you arrive to a ghost hotel and that's how we found we had no water, there was nobody to tell us as we came in we had to phone and eventually somebody answered to tell us. There are lots of people on reception in the morning and none seem too busy. It's got a strange feel to it - lighting in the corridors isn't strong enough and also the bricks in the paths are so loose in places that they actually dislodged when I walked over them. Given the cost and the fact they say they are a four star hotel, they need to seriously get some customer training in and improve all the things that guests expect from this sort of hotel. The positive aspect of this place were the porters who did seem to have to work hard.

I was there with my family attending a wedding at a different location, closer to the hotel — which was the main reason we chose this place. However, the decision turned out to be a total waste, a nightmare and we are extremely disappointed with the choice. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, starting at check-in, (or I would rather say from the car park) the staff pushed us to make payments immediately ( it felt like they wanted us to pay before we even breathed). The ladies at the front desk keeps on following you ,till you keep the bags on the floor and take your card/cash out of the pocket. We were accommodated in the right-wing rooms, and suddenly the water supply to the toilets completely stopped. We had no way to shower or even use the toilet. This was especially frustrating because there were elders and kids in the family, and even another group of guests , a family from Australia with children and seniors were facing the same water issue. We overheard the staff mentioning them that it's a “breakdown” and that they were unable to supply water to shower and toilet. For a hotel, that is totally unacceptable. The rooms also had poor lighting, with no proper lighting system at all. We could barely find our belongings inside the room. The justification they gave? That it was part of the Ayurvedic concept. With all due respect to concepts , guests need water, lights, and basic comfort, not philosophy. The front office staff were extremely unprofessional and had absolutely no understanding of customer service. We had a large number of rooms booked, and most of them had multiple issues. Nothing was handled properly or professionally. We had to wait hours for something as simple as bottled water/ toilet papers. Even toilet use and showering had to be postponed because the hotel couldn’t provide basic utilities on time. Then comes breakfast — flies everywhere. So many flies. The dishes were extremely limited. I stayed for 2 days, and on both days, few from the only constant items were sautéed potatoes and bread. That’s not a menu, that’s a loop. Overall, this hotel failed in the most basic expectations: ❌ No water ❌ Poor lighting ❌Unprofessional staff ❌ Slow service ❌ Fly-filled breakfast with extremely limited food We deeply regret choosing this place. Definitely would NOT recommend. Very disappointed

My stay at Celestia was deeply nourishing and truly special. The therapist team, including Dr. Palitha Bandula Siri, Dr Dilini, Sundya and Deepthi offered treatments that were profound, grounding, and deeply relaxing. Dr Dilini could lighten up even the not so comfortable but needed treatments. Special thanks to Sundya who really made every treatment a healing session! Through Dr. Palitha clear introduction to Ayurveda, I gained a real understanding of its benefits. I had originally planned to simply rest at a beautiful place, but his introduction inspired me to book a full therapeutic package — a decision I am very grateful for. He made sure that I received all treatments to support my body to heal and clean toxins. He helped me to get rid of an allergy! The restaurant team — Malinga, Nawodya, Veronica, and Richar — created a warm and attentive dining experience, supported by a talented chef with beautifully prepared meals that were most exquisite. Malinga especially kindly taught me about Sri Lanka herbs & plants and always helped me to get the best meal for me. The housekeeping manager Kalum and his team ensured that all my needs were met — from water and candles to a perfectly clean room — and went the extra mile by arranging a stronger, dedicated internet connection so I could comfortably continue my work. Thiwanka kindly supported all technical needs. I would also like to thank the manager Shimashi, who consistently ensured that all my wishes were met and made everything feel easy and comfortable — he even surprised me with speaking German. Without Renuka’s care and guidance, I would likely have passed by or booked only a single massage. She truly understood what would support me, and thanks to her thoughtful presence, I decided to stay longer — a choice that made all the difference. Every team member contributed with heart and dedication. I felt truly seen and supported and can wholeheartedly recommend Celestia.
