We had a lovely seven-day stay in Apartment Irena in Ana Petali, hosted by Moscha Geronti --the ultimate Greek host. Our place was large and lovely, with a large terrace overlooking the beautiful white and blue city of Apollonia and the ocean. The decor is tasteful, with impressive choices in art and lighting. The small kitchen is fully equipped, and she brought us daily treats she'd made herself -- including spinach pie with fila dough (!!), a quiche and pastries. We arrived by ferry from Milos, then took a very nice bus up the mountainside (15 minute ride, and a bus concierge loaded and unloaded our luggage under the bus.). We were there to hike and visit beaches and the location couldn't have been more perfect. Every morning, we would have breakfast on our terrace, then walk down to the center of town, where we could find a trailhead or a bus to a beach. The bus system is centered in Apollonia, so most locations were very easy. We hiked (mostly downhill) to five beaches and took buses to two others. At each of these beautiful beaches, there was usually a choice of restaurants with traditional foods -- such as lamb cooked in wine, Greek salads with Sifnos' own cheese, eggplants stuffed with tomatoes. We found ourselves swimming and relaxing at the beach, under the trees, then enjoying long luxurious lunches at oceanfront restaurants before taking buses back to our hideout at the top of the mountain (next to a Greek Orthodox Church). If we'd had the energy, or remaining appetite, we would have tried one of the many highly rated restaurants in the heart of Apollonia.

Biggest pluses: the tremendously hospitable owner and the central location on the island. We were surprised several times with a pastry. You can ask her anything. A few things need repair, but given the price we turn a blind eye to this. Only weird drawback: there is a washing machine in your flat, but if you want to use it you have to pay 10 euros extra.

A wonderful spot to stay, spacious, very clean & comfortable and all made more special by the hospitality and assistance given us by Moscha before and during our stay. We had a lovely apartment with a large bedroom entirely separate from the comfortable and good sized living room plus a private patio where we enjoyed sitting and admiring the view. The paved pathway was an easy 5 minute walk uphill to Artemonas and an even easier 10 minute walk downhill to Apollonia. The bus service to most of the island was in Apollonia which made sightseeing easy and enjoyable. An excellent restaurant in Artemonis (Margarita's) was a favourite with us. Totally recommend staying at Moscha Geronti Studios!

We stayed at Moscha's for 5 days in August at the Nereias apartment. This was a spacious, super clean and comfortable apartment with separate and large bedroom. The private veranda overlooking the coast and the countryside of beautiful Sifnos was amazing. The location is also convenient between Apollonia (5 min) and Artemonas (10 min) that can be reached on foot through a wonderful cycladic stone pathaway. Beaches can be easily reached by bus or car. On top of everything Ms Moscha is a kind perfect host that let us feel welcome from the very moment we arrived and perhaps even before as she was always available by email for any kind of help. We will return soon: no need to look for something else in Sifnos!
