My husband and I stayed Friday- Sunday to celebrate our 14th anniversary and it was exactly what we were hoping for! The property is on 30 acres in the woods and is very private. There’s a handful of different types of lodging options and we ended up staying at the Inn in the Cedar Log Suite. It was as big as a one bedroom condo except for not having a kitchen. There was a living room, bistro table eating area, outdoor patio, huge bathroom with a very large jetted tub, bedroom with a very comfortable king bed and an attached seating area. The room had plenty of extra towels and linens if needed. We included a bottle of champagne and it was in the room in a wooden ice bucket with fresh cut flowers when we arrived. We included having breakfast brought to our room on Sunday morning and they left a large basket of everything we could need by our door at 9am. It was excellent and a great way to finish off our weekend. The main areas in the lodge were really nice and had games, books and other things to use during your stay. They went above and beyond to ensure you’ll have everything you need. They provided pool towels and had a shed with tons of outdoor games, life preservers and swim gear. The property is absolutely beautiful and we spent some time walking and exploring the wooded trails, garden and orchard. The owner, Julie, gave a garden tour Saturday after an incredible farm-to-table breakfast. As gardeners we really enjoyed talking with her about her methods and getting some gardening ideas. Saturday afternoon we took out some of the free kayaks on the river that runs through the property. It was very relaxing and we took on our time on the river enjoying the scenery. When we returned we made use of the pool and hot tub. After dinner we walked around and took in the Edison lighted pathways and played ping pong and pool in the large barn. If you’re looking for restaurants there’s plenty of options nearby. We enjoyed Greenbush Brewery and Union Pier Social on our weekend trip. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature. I would definitely return again!

My husband and I needed a place to stay on our way back home from a weekend trip, and we are so glad we did! Goldberry is a beautiful, peaceful haven of nature near the Lake Michigan shore. They provide kayaks and bikes for guests, and we took advantage of those for a quiet Galien River cruise through the woods, and biked to the beach on Lake Michigan. Our Driftwood room was beautiful and clean. Breakfast was yummy tasty cuisine made with eggs and organic produce from their farm. We loved our experience and recommend it.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the Sassafras room in October, and we had a wonderfully relaxing experience. The innkeepers accommodated my dietary restrictions in making my breakfast which was delicious. The farm and grounds were beautiful and so peaceful. We fed the chickens in the morning and hiked the River Trail on the property in the afternoon. The yoga instructor, Ferris, was fantastic as she led my husband through his first yoga class. Everything was first class. We will definitely be back! Photos are from the River Trail.

Perfect little getaway spot! We stayed for 4 nights in the vintage camper, Flora. It was perfect for our needs. The bed was super cozy. We enjoyed the grounds, the pool and hot tub and easy access to all the nearby attractions.

This Inn is a great getaway anytime of the year! We’ve been coming to Union Pier for the past 40 years and I was very happy to find this place. There are cozy rooms in the Inn as well as cottages. The property is lovely and there are walking trails through the woods. The breakfasts were amazing and the hospitality was very warm. I went with a friend in January, and I say if you can enjoy a place in January, you can enjoy it anytime! Though it was cold and windy, It was fun to see Lake Michigan in all of her glory. We also did some great shopping in nearby Three Oaks. Can’t wait to see what this place is like in the warmer weather. It looks like they had quite a large garden. And chickens! Also, they have a lovely indoor space where they have yoga classes and ping-pong. We did some vision boarding and I brought my watercolors. There’s a pool in a hot tub that are semi enclosed and heated year-round. We didn’t go swimming, but there was a family there enjoying it

This was our first stay at goldberry woods, and we will definitely be back. The owners are incredibly friendly and hospitable, the inn has unexpected amenities, wonderful antiques and decor, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Made with organic produce grown on site. Can't wait to come back!
