This is an amazing place to stay. The main building is a castle from the 11th century. The building we stayed in was from the 14th century. Rooms are beautifully decorated. The grounds are beautiful. The friendly and helpful owner shared a lot of background history with us. Breakfast was served in the old part of the house and it was delicious. Fresh croissants every morning. We slept so well in this location. Cordey only has a few houses so it is very quiet.

We stayed only one night in this wonderfully unique hotel and wished we’d had longer. My husband and I were travelling with my mother and our rooms in the old stable block were beautiful and comfortable. The restoration of this historic property has obviously been a labour of love and it was a great opportunity to stay there. The host was very kind and helpful. I recommend the upstairs room with bathtub Pierre Corneille XVII which is light & airy and overlooks the front courtyard. The Hugues de Carday XII room downstairs was a little darker but beautifully decorated and perfect for my mother with no stairs to climb and a walk-in shower. There are other units and a gite. The spa facility is basic with a sauna and jacuzzi (which needs pre-booking) and the climb down the metal stepladder to the pool could be difficult for some. The “indoor/outdoor” pool could use a little tarting up at the covered outdoor end. There is a short climb up spiral steps to the breakfast room in the main chateau - but who normally gets to do that?! We loved our stay here and would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay somewhere out of the ordinary. We would definitely come back.
