At this point, this hotel is an iconic stop on the road from central and northern Kenya. Situated facing Chania falls, the sound of the water hurtling down the rocks into the whirlpool at the bottom of the falls provides a calming backdrop that will relax many. The service was okay, and the food was freshly made. There were no complaints here, but this could improve. The establishment is indeed in need of a renovation, but for now, nostalgia will bring us back.

A hidden gem away from the city buzz. Blue Post Hotel is a truly lovely place, beautifully set against the stunning backdrop of the Chania Falls. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape from the concrete jungle, this is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a meal surrounded by nature. It’s also a convenient stop, whether you’re passing through or planning a relaxed outing. The atmosphere is calm and refreshing, and the staff are friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Had to wait for about an hour for a simple order of chips and sausages. Most items on the menu are not available Quality of food is poor. When asked what was causing the delay, the waiter responded rudely that we have to be patient. Most staff are also wearing torn clothes which shows a poor image of the hotel I would recommend that some one should go into thika town to get food and avoid this place

I have been staying at the Blue Post for many nights since April 2025 and during that period have noticed some impressive upgrades. Most notably the Service has improved. Prompt and efficient restaurant and reception services and great quality food from Stephen the chief chef. Overall we have seen that the General Manager, is Peter going out of his way to up lift this icon of Kenyan history and paving the way with new staff and training to secure a respectable and worthwhile future. Even the new reception staff are brilliant

I visited here last Saturday because of the waterfall. Turns out you get two for the price of 1! Beautiful area, beautiful grounds, some animals and wildlife. Charles does a great job caring for them and explaining how they live. Ask for him, he is a tour guide as well, can help and accompany you to your sightseeing adventures!

This is the fifth time that I have visited Blue Posts. The quality of the, once famous, samosas have declined. I hope the chef takes note. They are loosely packed and crumble. The other problem at the hotel is the quality of the water. It is coming out from the taps and shower coloured brown. I guess that this is because it is being sourced from the river.
