The booking in machine didn't work reception not due for 2 hours but a young man did check us in. Almost twice the price of Premiere Classe but just a fraction more room. No chair- just a stool Very small bathroom shelf for toothbrush etc. Bedside lights don't work.

Avoid like the plague. My room, room 113 was covered in bed bugs which I didn’t realise until I woke up itching and with one sat on my pillow. The place needs fumigating. Not good when you’ve traveled from north England and need to rest before travelling on to Barcelona. Had no rest and walked straight out. Disgusting!

First time at one of these hotels. No complaints, perfectly acceptable for an over nighter to break up a journey. Good car parking available and even though it was in an industrial area felt safe and secure and quiet. Room was small but no issues. Clean. No keys but a keycode that also opens the car park if the gate is closed. Buffalo Grill is a 5 minute walk away for an evening meal. Can't comment on the breakfast as we wanted to get on with the journey.

We drive between the south of England and Spain. Abbeville is a great location for a quick stop over an hour from the tunnel. We like Ibis, you know exactly what you are going to get. Cheap, basic but clean and comfortable. There are 2 Ibis hotels within a short distance of each other. Regular Ibis has a nice little bar and small restaurant. Rooms as usual basic, but clean and comfortable. However the parking is poorly lit, no security and on the edge of woods. We had our car window smashed and the contents stolen. The police said it was (paraphrasing) easy pickings if you don't park close to the hotel in the lit area. We parked under what turned out to be a burnt out light. There is no lift so if you do want to bring absolutely everything in you will have to haul it all upstairs. That said if you travel light, can park closer and check the lighting it is a nice hotel with good facilities. The Ibis Budget does not have a bar or an evening restaurant although they serve an excellent breakfast. We received a warm welcome by the very friendly receptionist. In a nutshell cheap and cheerful. There is a lift between floors. There is a receptionist on duty during 'normal' hours and automated check in for late arrivals. Very simple to use. There are several very good restaurants within a few minutes walk. The receptionist pointed out you get a 10% discount in many of them if you show your hotel bill. Very modern hotel with keypad access. Rooms again basic, but clean and comfortable. Biggest advantage is the car park. It is well lit, very secure with CCTV etc. Locked at night with keypad access for late arrivals. We slept very well there feeling safe and secure.

Avoid this hotel if you don't like being charged for a booking you did not make. This was my habitual stopover when I use the Eurotunnel. I had booked a Friday night stop and then 48 hours later on Sunday on the return trip (when I confirmed the correct booking dates). For both stays, I checked in online beforehand as would be arriving late. For the Friday booking, I accessed the hotel with no problem. The access code for Sunday night, however, did not work and I was stuck alone with no accommodation at midnight in their car park. Fortunately, I was able to find a room at another hotel, at extra expense. I then found that I had been charged for an overnight stay on a Saturday night - I had been charged for a booking that did not exist!!!! I have made many attempts to get hold of the hotel customer services for a refund (in person, via email, social media, and telephone). However, they have just stonewalled me. A shocking absence of customer care or service and I will never use Ibis Hotels again.

Having stayed in hundreds of hotels in the past the one takes the record for providing the smallest room. The pin code system didn't work and nobody came to reception until 4pm so we had to wait around. The toilet wasn't much bigger than coffin. There was a shower but the sink was in the bedroom. There was a privacy curtain bt it was tied in a knot which we couldn't undo. The receptionist came to our door to ask if we were smoking, once we confirmed we weren't smoking she said the steam from the shower had caused an alarm to go off and insisted we open the window really wide, it was cold, I was in my underwear and we were on the ground floor but she still insisted. No concern for her guest at all. The upside is that it was relatively cheap, quiet and very clean. A good stop if you just want somewhere to spend a night.
