A place with soul on the Mighty Zambezi Zambezi Sands is one of the most memorable lodge experiences I’ve had in Africa. The location is stunning, but it’s the people who make it truly special. Eddie was warm and attentive from the first minute, Rob brought the bush to life with passion and humour, and the “Minister of Entertainment” added moments of genuine connection. Warren, the Operations Manager, is an exceptional host — humble, authentic, and full of heart. Spacious rooms with beautiful river views, outstanding food, and a magical bush breakfast made the stay unforgettable. Zambezi Sands is luxury with soul — a rare gem on the Zambezi. Very excellent service right from point of arrival at the lodge gate to the checkin process. The location allows you to have a sneak peek into the national park on your drive to the lodge itself. The rooms are pristine, neat, quiet, cool, very comforting and with everything one would need in a room. Activities are well planned out and super exciting. Meals had the right taste on the tongue. I would recommend any day and worth every penny and time spent.

Zambezi sands experience was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment i arrived i felt completely safe, thanks for their alert security. The lodge its self is spotless with a breathtaking view of the natural environment situated right at the edge of the Zambezi river. The food was flavorful well presented with friendly staff. During our trip, we had the privilege of staying at Sambezi Sands by Batoka Lodges - and I can say, without hesitation, that it was the best room we stayed in throughout the entire journey. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything was simply flawless. The service was exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. It’s rare to find staff who combine such professionalism with true hospitality. The facilities themselves are remarkably new and pristine, with thoughtful design details and a clear sense of quality in every corner. It feels like a classic destination reinvented for modern comfort. Our room was beyond expectations: spacious, beautifully appointed, with soft linens, elegant lighting, and an atmosphere that radiated calm and refinement. It was one of those places where time seems to slow down - where you can truly rest and take in the beauty of your surroundings. Many of the points we’d read on TripAdvisor were confirmed - the peaceful setting, impeccable cleanliness, and the sense of harmony that flows through the property. But what really sets Zambezi Sands apart, in our experience, is that rare combination of impeccable service, stunning new facilities, and the most comfortable room of our trip. If you’re looking for a place that blends elegance, serenity, and genuine warmth, this is the kind of stay that will exceed even your highest expectations.

This was our first safari experience and it set the bar very high. The 'tent' was out of this world, very luxurious and stylishly decorated. With the option of river cruise or game drive in mornings and evenings it offers best of both worlds. The food was fantastic and we loved how the chef introduced the meal each day and described it with so much passion. All staff were amazing really. What we particularly liked is the lack of fences, both around the national park as well as the lodge (or even the town of Victoria Falls for that matter), which gave a much more authentic feel than some of the reserves we visited afterwards in South Africa. Last but not least our guide, Martin, was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed every drive and the passion and knowledge he showed about the fauna and flora. He delivered with sightings of all the animals in the park and provided a lot of information about each animal. You could tell he loves his job. We would highly recommend Betoka Zambezi Sands.

It was a lovely experience. The staff are fantastic and the chef takes a lot of pride in his food and his food is personalized and delicious. They went out of their way to ensure I was looked after. The rooms are beautifully curated and stylishly decorated. The beds were super comfy ! it easy to do some work as well chill out and relax.

The entire staff is amazing!! Eddie, Percifal, Robert, Killian & Precious! But Martin was by far exceptional, his knowledge, awareness and skills are off the charts!! I will definitely come back again soon!! The lodge is very clean, organized and safe! The Chef Mphumelelo! OMG!! He is Amazing! Every dish is 10/10 and those chips WOW!! Captain Douglas was very patient and also very knowledgeable on the water!
