The cabin is lovely—both inside and out. The kitchen is well-equipped with just about everything you’d need, and there are plenty of blankets and heaters in every room to keep things cozy and comfortable in the fall weather. The location was ideal for our trip and felt peaceful and private.
There was a hiccup with the WiFi when we arrived, which made it a bit tricky to get in touch at first. However, once Scarlet received our message, she responded with kindness and got everything resolved right away. For future stays, I’d personally bring a backup hotspot or offline map—just in case—since cell service can be limited in remote areas.
Overall, we had a pleasant and relaxing stay and really appreciated the care that’s clearly gone into making the cabin feel like a home away from home!

We stayed at the Avonlea Forest Hills Carriage House in August and it was fantastic. The cottage was beautiful inside and immaculately clean. It had everything we needed for our stay included extra pillows and blankets and a comfy bed. The grounds were very well kept with plenty of space and privacy. Although just off the main road it was quiet and relaxing. I would highly recommend to couples for a lovely get away.

Carriage House Cottage was only one small room, and a bathroom. Fine for two people but no more. The good: new appliances, new bbq, and had all amenities in kitchen. Coffee pot is filter and ground coffee, fairly newly renovated inside. The not so good: bed is terrible!! Extremely hard. Shower had absolutely NO water pressure so bad that I went to the beach( 5 mins away) to grab a shower. Lots of moles running around, living in the walls of the cottage but no sign of any inside. The cottage was quite damp feeling, even when we adjusted the heat pump. TV was not good. Sounds was bad. We spent 5 days( left 2 days early) and did not see any staff for replenishing supplies, so no fresh towels offered( thankfully we brought our own…). We Paid $2000 ( taxes in for CBMF weekend and they offered it to us for next year for $3200 plus tax!!!!!!!!! Outragious!!!!! NOT worth even close to that much money. DO NOT PAY that!!!!!also Two of the other cottages got charged for a second vehicle even tho the contract said includes two vehicles. We have asked for a receipt of payment and they have not sent it.

The cottage Sanfpiper was okay but it was situated just 2 meters away to a very busy and noisy main street. This was NOT mentionned on the published offer. Furthermore we never got any feedback on our questions. No communication at all; this is an inapropriate way to deal with problems. We don‘t recommend the Avonlea Forest Hill Cottages. Sorry but we are disappointed.

This place is a gem, looks scary from road because overgrown, not manicured but then the cabins within are so beautiful! Great location across from Avonlea village for all your needs. I would highly recommend.

Very comfortable and relaxing stay at the cottage. Very close to the Avonlea Village that has good dining options and a transit bus stop if you are looking to travel to other cities in PEI via public transportation. Plenty of walking/biking trails nearby and close to the Cavendish beach as well. We had a wonderful stay!

Clean and spacious cabin surrounded by trees and in a convenient location.
Everything that you could need was provided in the kitchen.
