We had been to this place on 1st and 2nd Jan. We didn’t enjoy the stay. 1. The property is very small . Though it is Sterling property, there are just 8 rooms allotted to members and only standard rooms the duplex are not available for members. 2. The activity center was not functional when needed. 3. The room doesn’t have any view as shown in the photos but of a new property coming up next, blocking the view. 4. In room dining didn’t have all the items shown up on menu card. When asked it was told that it is a standard menu card across sterling properties. 5.The room doesn’t have proper ventilation . 6. The bath towels were not clean as expected 7. The food prices appeared to be on a higher side compared to Kufri 8. Bar facility was not available 9. The menu was exactly same as sterling Kufri. We found this little boring since we started our trip from Sterling Kufri and then to Chail. 10.Only positive we found is the service. 11. There is no much site seeing at chail. One should not visit Palace which is included in site seeing itinerary because there is noting to be seen. Only lobby and garden area is open for visitors

We had an excellent stay at Sterling Shivalik Chail. The room was well kept and clean. The food served was specially made to our taste and we really enjoyed it. Everyone at the hotel was very eager to make our stay a memorable one.

Property is valley facing. but currently there's construction activity in the vicinity so that can be a disturbance. it is a hotel rather than a resort so space for kids activity is not available. rooms are comfortable for 2 adults or 3 kids. since we had 2 rooms it was ample for us. TV channels are limited. Food is on the expensive side so plan your meals outside (Shimla/Kufri) if you are on a tight budget. Overall the property is cute and beautiful. Parking space is ample. can go for a walk or just enjoy the rains as we did. Shimla is an hr's drive. Jhaku mandir is a beautiful place to visit. Highlight is Army museum at Annadale is the high light. it's a must visit.

Amazing experience peaceful, beautiful small huts and amazing people. Enjoyed the trail. Good experience with Vishal ji. Guided well. We enjoyed walking rather than by going by car. Scenic beauty, trees. Saw some of the vegetables that are grown

Awesome. Must watch, it was very peaceful and also very well explained , we saw apple orchards and tasted. Our tour was very nicely conducted by Vishal and Manoj and it has added dimension to this village tour. We visited this place by car and ride was very smooth and wonderful

I stayed with my wife at sterling shivalik chail. A Village tour was organised by Mr.Vishal was very excellent. We fully enjoyed Village tour. We recomend the people for this village tour.surekha make the tea for as its so amazing village tour was osm

Visited village tour with Vishal our guide of the tour. The experience was amazing and great, we enjoyed walking around the apple orchards. Also Vishal explained us various aspects of apple trees. It was fun as well as we gained knowledge about other vegetation and plants growing around.

Awesome village tour with Mr. Vishal. Very good experience, must visit to see the apple orchards. We have visit various apple orchards. Vegetable were also grow Interaction with villages , very simple life styles of villagers. We have found these villages are well connected to the city roads. N also have internet connectivity.

Stayed at this property for three nights. The location is at a serene location, away from the touristic crowd which I really preferred. The valley view from the balcony of our rooms ("superior" and "suite") was fine. However, this may depend on the room allocation. We took AP meal package. The meals were really great. We also went for the village tour which was very informative as well as heart-warming. On the day of check-out, the staff packed our lunch (as we missed the lunch on the day of our check-in) with equal care. The USP of the property in my view is the hotel staff. They were prompt in their service and took good care of us which made our stay there very pleasant. Would recommend this property of Sterling to travellers who go for vacation to unwind (and not to party). Would urge people to respect the tranquility of the place. Otherwise, you won't be able to appreciate the existence of such places.
