Eric at reception was lovely and very encouraging for the walk a head. The room was very basic,no window and extremely stuffy. It wasn't particularly warm outside but the lack of air made it very hard to sleep. We were in a very tight 8 person dorm but there was very little room to leave bags and ruck sacks. The breakfast was ok, and there was lots of variety.

Excellent reception. After some major glitches getting to St Jean Pied du Port, it was nice to arrive in a place where the stress melted away. Very helpful folks and perfectly located. Eric (who seems to be a linguistic wizard), offered welcome words of encouragement and useful advice. A great spot to start the Camino!

Eric, the owner is very helpful and knowledgeable. The simple hostel is in the middle of Saint Jean so it is ideally placed not far from the railway station or bus stop. The famous church is very close by. The beds are good and the bathroom has been improved recently.
