Visited not impressed considering its closed on a Wednesday ,we went on a Thursday contemplating a meal out from a holiday cottage. When enquiring young lass I'll need to check, came back not cooking tonight

酒店回复: Hi Bill, I'm really sorry you are disappointed. Everyone is entitled to a day off ours being a Wednesday, we are a small business with limited staff and this is the only way we can have time off by closing on our quietest day. When you arrived on the Thursday for a meal without a reservation my young staff member had advised that we had a private event which was just about to take place but you didn't want to take her word for it and asked for a senior member of staff to clarify what she had advised. I came out of the kitchen to apologise that due to a private event we could not accommodate. As I previously stated we are a small business with limited seating and kitchen space. We do not like to turn business away, on this occasion there was no where for you to sit to enjoy your meal. I hope this makes things a little clearer and we apologise for the lack of seating.

Lovely staff, managed to fit us in despite the late call. Nice airy restaurant and it is obviously very popular with locals and tourists alike. The steak pie with a puff pastry crust was so good, meat fell apart and a lovely gravy. Breaded chicken fillets crispy and juicy with moreish garlic mayo. The chips on both dishes were crispy and fluffy. Would highly recommend and will be back. Reasonable prices aswell

This is a wee gem - clean & friendly. Very quiet spot. No dinner on a Wednesday, but we walked to Cullen which was lovely too. Breakfast was fabulous for a fiver !!! The room was really nice and we could not fault the quiet location, with no noise at all - lovely walks all around the village.

Usual warm welcome from owners David and Lorraine . Room with a view over Portknockie bay . Room newly refurbished and spacious . Very clean and comfortable . Excellent shower and plenty hot water . Extra pillows provided always welcome. The food is the best in the area with excellent Steak nights on Fridays. The menu is varied and of the highest quality.

Positives: 1. Location - in the centre of town, 5 minute walk to the Bow Fiddle Rock. 2. Double Room with Sea View was reasonably spacious. The view, however, was a bit of a token. 3. Continental breakfast included in room price - basic selection, but it kept us going in the mornings. 4. Kettle, tea, coffee and milk provided in the room. 5. Free WiFi. 6. Free parking. Negatives: 1. There was a strong, nauseating smell in the room, coming from the carpet. 2. The room was very cold in the mornings, as the heating was switched off during the night. 3. Breakfast room was freezing - the heaters were never turned on. 4. There was nowhere to store our personal items in the bathroom, not a single shelf or cupboard. 5. Every time we flushed the toilet, a loud, roaring noise, similar to a truck engine, would come from the pipes and would continue for 5 minutes. This is was especially troublesome at night. 6. Cracked, plastic drinking cups were a bit of a let down. 7. No mini fridge in the room. 8. No table, just two chairs.

酒店回复: Hi, Thank you for taking the time to give such a negative review. Why you didn't voice your concerns while you were with us is beyond me. If your room was that bad I would of expected a complaint at the time but you never mentioned any of this during your stay. * On the evening you checked in we were hosting our first curry night (the hotel was full of the aroma of spices etc) * cracked glasses could be replaced. *I was unaware of toilet noise until you checked out ( now been fixed) *not cost effective to have a mini fridge in a 3* hotel * heating is a flick of a switch (no one else complained) *breakfast was complimentary (fruit juice, tea/coffee, pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal and toast) bacon and eggs are offered as an extra. I would of happily changed your room if you were that unhappy but like I said no mention of any of this during your stay.

My husband and I have been coming to Portknockie self catering for 25 years and we had previously eaten in Victoria but started to give it a miss then I decided to book for last night and straight away realised it had been taken over. Dining room very bright and fresh not like previous times. We got speaking with the lovely waitress who said they had been taken over. I had the Sunday roast dinner comprising of Delicious tender beef,Yorkshire pudding, mash and roast potatoes and lovely veggies. This was followed by almond and raspberry tart with ice cream. Husband had ga.mon steak, pineapple veggies and chips followed by apple pi and custard. Believe me I know about food and I can tell you this was absolutely first class. Will we be back sure thing we will. Waitress was first class lovely attitude towards customers.

酒店回复: Thank you so much for the glowing review. We pride ourselves in value for money and excellent customer service. We hope you manage another visit next time your in Portknockie.
