Mad aboiut Monaghan !! What a fabulous place to stay in Monaghan. This house was such a surprise and such a treasure trove with lots of lovely features, locally made art pieces and collectibles from as far away as New Zealand. A number of paintings and framed poems from Monaghan artists were also on display adding to the ecletic mix and beautiful surroundings of the house. The best thing of all about staying here was the host. Elizabeth was such a fabulos host and really embodies all things Monaghan. Her t-shirt even reflected that. The best ambassador that Monaghan has. All of the food served for what was an exceptional breakfast was locally produced in Monaghan. Rooms were very comfortable, warm and inviting. And such good value too. Would recommend Lynster House very highly. A great place to stay.

Excellent accommodation, very comfortable beds, great shower and breakfast was excellent too. Highly recommend and would definitely return. Our host was very helpful and makes delicious brown bread, great atmosphere here! Thank you very much.

Lynster House is really beautiful & extremely clean. It really is top notch accommodation 5 star. Elizabeth is the perfect hostess, so friendly & helpful. She made us feel so at home, recommended local restaurants for diner & made the booing for us.

Everything about my getaway was perfect: from the quaint town of Monaghan, to the beautiful Lynster House, with its beautiful decor, gorgeous garden, amazingly comfortable bed, and wonderful owner and hostess, Elizabeth, who is warm and welcoming, and a terrific cook! A must-visit for anyone coming to Ireland.

We spend a lovely few days at Lynster house while attending Monaghan Blues festival 2024. It was our first visit to Liz’s beautiful guest house and it didn’t disappoint. She is a great host offering an array of information on every topic but particularly Monaghan and its music scene. The house was full of artists playing at the festival and music lovers attending. There was a lovely, easy, familiar atmosphere all weekend with lots of laughter and great conversations had by all. Breakfast was plentiful to suit all dietary requirements. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days and shall return. I highly recommend beautiful guest house and its host who is “mad about Monaghan”.

I have stayed in Lynster house on many occasions in the past as I am a frequently booked artist who performs at the blues festival. I have always found Liz the perfect host. I had a great stay at this year’s festival. Liz looked after me getting me in and out of town because she had a system with different drivers. Lynster house is perfectly situated out of the partying town if you need a good nights sleep. It’s only about a 5 minute drive in and out. Perfect. The house is lovely and very tastefully presented with a warm and very friendly atmosphere prevailing. The breakfast is absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked with all the ingredients sourced from within Monaghan. I can honestly whole heartedly recommend a stay at this house at any time of the year. Thank you Liz for another wonderful stay at Lynster House

Myself and my wife enjoyed our stay at Lynster House immensely. We arrived on the Saturday afternoon for the Harvest Blues festival and were immediately invited by Elizabeth, the guest house owner to join her in town to watch the bands. She made us feel like a friend which was great. The property itself was superb, beautiful artwork throughout the house was a highlight plus some amazing black and white photographs of some of the many famous rock and blues musicians who have performed in Monaghan over the years. The breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay, my wife loved the ' posh porridge ' and the full Irish fried breakfast was beautifully prepared. We slept soundly in our room , the bed was really comfortable and the house was really quiet at night despite the number of guests staying for the festival. Bathroom facilities were very classy just like the rest of the property. I would advise anyone looking for a weekend stay in a beautiful house with a friendly owner to choose Lynster House. We will definitely be back again.
