We stayed at The Chain Locker in Falmouth for 3 nights in September 2025. This is our 6th trip to Falmouth - we absolutely love it. All our previous stays have been at The Greenbank, but considering their continually escalating prices we decided to give somewhere else a go. The Chain Locker has always been my favourite pub in the area (if not the world!), and I'm delighted to say that the hotel lived up to my expectations. Firstly, the value was exceptional. A great deal, including an excellent breakfast each morning with an array of continental and hot dishes, all prepared to an exceptionally high standard. Our room was small, but perfectly appointed. Lovely views across the marina and wonderful outdoor terrace. As with the pub downstairs, what really made staying at The Chain Locker special was the staff. Without exception, they were fantastic. Extremely friendly and highly professional. Every interaction left us with a feeling that we were welcome and valued as guests. The manager, in particular, was a credit to the St. Austell brand. I'd highly recommend staying at The Chain Locker in Falmouth. We've already booked next year's visit!

We booked the room last minute for one night and had a great time, the staff were excellent, room was great with everything you need and very clean, I have a bad neck and back and the bed was great. Delicious breakfast and the views were incredible over the harbour! Would book again. Amazing value

The hotel was a lovely location and the staff were fantastic. The place could do with a bit of a deep clean as well as the rooms. The shower tray in our room had been broken previously with a very mediocre repair. The fan in the room was also broken. It was a real shame because the hotel was lovely just lacked attention to detail. We also would’ve appreciated the coffee/biscuits being refreshed each day. I’m sure the hotel would’ve obliged had we asked but it would’ve been inconvenient for us. The location of the hotel was fantastic.

Our 2nd stay here.we stayed here in march and enjoyed it soo much..we re booked.We stayed for 2nights in the room Stella.Its very clean here.with friendly staff.great location.lovly breakfast.its fairly noisy until 11pm.but then the room is quiet.we will visit again .

Found the accommodation last minute online. Booked and arrived 5 minutes later. Friendly staff, lovely small-but-perfect room, great location by the water and in the middle of all the goings on in town. Breakfast very good with an outstanding view across the water. Great stay whilst visiting my sone at uni. And mostly importantly, the pillows are perfect!

We stayed 2nts en route to the Isles of Scilly & enjoyed a great stay with a warm welcome on arrival & stayed in room ‘Agnes’. Spotlessly clean & very comfortable & appreciated the quality of the coffee maker. Staff were lovely throughout our stay in bar & restaurant, genuinely warm, friendly & delivered excellent service. Breakfast was high quality as was dinner & all served with an amazing view across the water. Would definitely stay again.

Fabulous stay, Falmouth is a beautiful, calm but also busy town. The location of the Chain Locker is fantastic as there are pretty views from your room and dining options. There is much on your doorstep so travelling by train through Cornwall with a stop here is recommended. A history walking tour is highly recommended and the staff at The Chain Locker hotel are really friendly, welcoming and helpful. There was even a Gluten Free fish and chips to keep us happy!

Nice pub in the centre of Falmouth. Room was small but adequate, and the shower was good. It was a hot night and we had to keep the window open to get some air into the room, unfortunately there was an event on in the pub which went on until very late and the noise from the late night drinkers kept me awake. It was a Tuesday night not a weekend when you might have expected a pub to be noisy. We did not eat in the pub due to the restaurant being closed for the above mentioned event, but the breakfast was satisfactory.
