I travel several times a year to Italy and this place did not live up to expectations or to normal standards in Italy. 1) First, they did not accept credit cards, which they are required to do by law. 2) Secondly, upon our arrival they reported that there is only tea in the room, even though their website advertises the possibility of both coffee and tea. See photo. 3) The bathroom was a disaster, see photos and in addition without a door. The host admitted that he knew about the problems but has not had time to fix it. What does it help us? 4) The room is located in a small apartment which is poorly insulated and we could hear noise from the others around us. All in all a disappointment for us, despite a good location.

Recently stayed here in October, and I would definitely recommend staying here. Enrico was very friendly and gave us good recommendations for the town. The location is nice too. It's less than a 5-minute walk from the train station, so you can get out of the station and put your bags down right away. The self-check-in process was straightforward too once we found the room. The bathroom was nice and clearly recently renovated. No issues at all with the room. Varenna was a great town to base our time on Lake Como out of. Much smaller than Bellagio.
