Booked online, mainly based on its excellent town centre location. When we pulled up in the car after a long drive from Ross, I wasn't quite sure we'd made the right choice. We also had to call the owner as the door was locked and there was no answer to the door bell. However, upon entry, the property took on a whole new appearance. A lovely renovation to one of Queenstown's iconic hotels and we were proudly shown around by the owner Ralph. The room was tastily decorated and the bed very comfy. The hotel doesn't serve dinner, but being right in town, there are good choices within a short walk. By the way, Ralph and his wife do a lovely breakfast, included in the price.

Ralph has done a fantastic job renovating the Hunters Hotel. Provided a wide variety of breakfast items (included in the room price). The heritage rooms were comfortable clean and cosy (not small) with tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Plenty of parking in front of the building and close by. Competitively priced. Ralph was a highly congenial host and happy to share local knowledge.

Ralph is gradually renovating this faded glory mining era hotel and provides great hospitality with a beautifully presented continental breakfast and local history tales if you're keen for a chat. Perfect setting for a stay in Queenstown. Room 1 was lovely with a sitting room looking out to the street and hills.
