The suite was on the 3rd floor without an elevator. So you will get your steps in for sure. The top cover of the bed was stained and felt to the touch like it had never been washed. The walls were dirty. The shower head was half broke spraying is all the wrong directions. It became very difficult to avoid creating a puddle of water outside the tiny pocket shower. The whole room will remain humid from a steamy shower. The AC and windows will not be enough to dry out the room. I could not fit in the shower without squeezing and had very little room to move to wash. For reference; I weigh 200LBs and am 5’6. The balcony is connected the neighbors balcony. So you can see into the others room. View is of a wall and roof. They do not provide enough toilet paper and will charge you extra if you ask for it. I stayed for 9 days and was provided 2 rolls that were very small. I spent a lot of time looking at other accommodations trying to decide if it would be worth it to stay somewhere else.

+ Excellent location within walking distance of the train station (from which you can reach the beach in 10 minutes), the best restaurants and bars in the area and all the sights near by. (various grocery and tobacco shops also +-5 minutes away) + The accommodation was clean and renovated. + Even though the center of Catania is sometimes noisy, we could not hear anything in our room. The rooms are also well insulated from each other and no noises from the neighbors next to us disturbed us. + A beautiful balcony with a view of the courtyard. + We were very pleased with the coffee on the table and the kettle with cups. + Check in and check out simple as well as communication with the owner about the access code and anything else. + We felt really safe in the accommodation, there is no way to get in without an access code or card and the door is really well secured. + The rooms are air-conditioned and it is possible to set the desired temperature. Absolutely great on hot days. :) + The price-quality ratio is absolutely unrivaled. We can say with certainty that it is the best accommodation we have stayed in so far. The owner is very welcoming and helpful and we were very happy to meet him. We will definitely return to Catania and we won't even think of looking for another accommodation. :)
