Had a spectacular time for my husband's birthday this past weekend. Room was cozy and inviting, breakfast was absolutely delicious and filling, and hosts and owners were incredibly kind and attentive. The host makes the best pancakes and French toast - made to order! Nice grounds with serene lake that was breathtaking. There was another very nice 2.5 mile trail on the property. Lunchtime snacks were included, such as mixed nuts, chips, granola bites. We had a wonderful retreat and will be back!

The website reads like it's been written by chatgpt to sound appealing (though maybe not as they consistently butchered the spelling of "accommodations") , so the reality was a major letdown, especially for OVER 400 DOLLARS A NIGHT Where to begin? Calling itself a "resort" is a stretch of the imagination for one thing, as is the idea that it's lakeside. The inn is NOT "lakeside". It is a 10-15 minute walk from the inn to the lake on a non-ADA accessible path. The website says "you never have to leave the inn" but there are no food options other than breakfast, which again does not suggest "resort" (though they do put out some nuts in the afternoon which was a nice touch). "The "heated pool" was not heated. The "in room massage" was not available. We were told on our last morning that the checkout time on their website was "wrong" and we needed to be out an hour earlier, not leaving us much time to go up and pack. The much-hyped breakfast featured mushy store bought pastries rather than "fresh baked goods", one type of fruit rather than "seasonal fruits" and some other offerings on tacky plastic plates. Things ran out and weren't replenished. The cooked offering took forever to come and featured overcooked scrambled eggs accompanied by a sprig of wilted parsley in a futile effort to try to make it look fancy. The room itself was uninspiring and dated, but clean. Again it did not deliver the quality they aspire to. No blackout blinds, or even drapes of any kinds, just cheap slatted blinds, which meant the sun shone right into my eyes from the space between the blind and the window waking me up in the early morning. Power sockets were almost impossible to find for plugging in electronics to charge. The TV remote didn't work. On the plus side, the terrace had a lovely view, though "furnished sundeck" translated to two Adirondack chairs and a lot of empty space. If nothing else it would be helpful to have a small (or regular) table out there to put drinks or a book on. The communal areas could have been really nice except they are set up in bizarre inhospitable furniture configurations. The "text only" option for service is not ideal and makes you feel like they don't want to be bothered. And if you are elderly and not tech savvy forget it, especially because all the inn info is only available on an app. All of this would have been ok if it weren't for the pricing, which while it sounded ok for what was described on the website was massively overpriced for what we got. I wish I had taken more photos to include in this review so others could compare the reality to the marketing photos online..

Thoroughly enjoyed a midweek stay at the Inn, and can't wait to return. My room in the main house was enormous, with a king-size bed and lush sheets, fireplace, jacuzzi, terrace, and ensuite bath. The inn's new owners Rom and Maria could not be more welcoming, and have quickly added their personal touch to the historic main building. They have so many great plans to enhance an already stunning property; their enthusiasm is infectious. You can do as much or as little as you choose here. Rocking in one of the hammocks may be all you need to relax and refresh, but if you want more, the Inn has a private access road leading to the pristine lake, and there are rowboats and kayaks at the ready. Also a two-mile-plus walking trail and a pool and badminton court. And yes, it's less than two hours from NYC. Do bring tick spray! RS

In over 28 years of traveling and staying in many inns and bed and breakfasts, my husband and I have never left early. If it had been earlier in the evening when we arrived, we would not have stayed the night we did. When we checked in, Matt was very friendly and helpful with suggestions for dinner. We were also so thankful that he did it charge us for the 2 additional nights we were scheduled to stay there. We have never seen the photos on a website be so drastically different than the reality. Our room was dirty. There were many cobwebs, a few dead bugs, stains on the robes, paint chipping off, wallpaper coming off, and the carpet was worn through in places and so dirty I put towels down to walk on. We were shocked! The website looks wonderful. When we returned home, I wrote a kind email to thank them for letting us out of 2 nights and to inquire about the charge for the night we stayed. When I saw that they charged us almost $500 for the one night we stayed, I asked if they would be willing to lower that amount considering the condition of the room and the fact that we did not eat or drink anything (we left at 7am just to get out of there). They could have responded and declined to adjust the charge; however, I received no response. With cleaning and updating, this property could be exceptional. We can only speak about the room that we had and the parts of the main house we saw.

A real 'diamond in the rough'. My wife and I both really enjoyed the inn. Matt and the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Our room (Tack Room) was terrific. Worth the ride. Definitely recommended!

The perfect place for a Catskills getaway, the Inn is set on a gorgeous lake offering boats, lovely pool, easy scenic hikes off the property and plenty more hiking nearby. The rooms are large and comfortable, the homemade breakfast delicious and plentiful and the innkeeper Matt is welcoming, helpful and immediately there to answer any query or requests. Common rooms are full of all kinds of activities for the evenings. We cannot wait to go back (or move in?).
