Lovely hotel. Room was very spacious and nicely decorated. Hotel was very clean. Bar area was a nice place to chill after a busy day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Games room is a great place to relax and kids can be in here after 10pm which is an added bonus 👍 I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the surrounding area, only a 20 min drive to Banchory.

I needed a bed for the night after attending a folk music gig, booking was straightforward and cost-effective, very affordable. I agree with the previous reviews that swayed me to book here, the staff were friendly, helpful and no-fuss; the room (Room 3, double ensuite) was excellent, never mind 'budget' this place is very good indeed. Big, comfortable bed, really clean, well equipped (microwave, kettle and Pod coffee machine) and the shower was spotless and powerful to wake me in the morning. Seriously, for a 'pub with rooms' (what we'd call an inn in older times) this is spot on. Wasn't bothered about breakfast as I'm fairly easygoing and look after myself, so can't comment, everything else, absolutely superb. To the owners; you have a gem here, keep it going, it's bloody great!

I have booked bed& breakfast on ******* web. Paid money for it to find out is no brekfast that evening,only because needed to call maintenence guy....as tv broken down. Got an email few days pripor my arrival that bar/ pub is close from monday to Thursday from day i am coming and i need to use codes to get in as is no staff.....

Loud( every little noise from room above not allowing to sleep)Cold, mould in the corner, hand towel hanger almost off the wall and wardrobe...without a rail and hangers...table pool to be in use after money putted in to only take money ...

Self contained, had toaster, kettle, microwave and refrigerator. Slight draw back is the vacuum sanitary system that makes noise when you use the toilet, sink or shower.

Really liked the Macbeth Arms. Truely the fluffiest towels on the planet. We had everything we needed and they accommodated a late arrival. Very organized. We wondered about the name until we stopped at the stone across the street. Macbeth may have met his fate here.
