Delightful welcome at Reception - arrived on the off chance and were dealt with very efficiently. Very helpful friendly staff. Lovely grassed site for our tent, spotless and good facilities. Well ordered and maintained. Big fridge and freezer space - the odd pan would help as we are travelling very light but we could eat at the local Ocean Beach which was excellent. Only one night as keen to press on south but easily a nice site for a few days. Highly recommend.

Loved it. Camp had a great vibe, nice amenities, the cabins were great. The bouncy pillow kept the kids busy, the BBQ worked great for dinner and breakfast... everyone loved it.

Stayed in one of the Boatshed cabins. Small - very limited room and cold water at sink only. A lot more pricey than other holiday parks which we found odd as the park is looking quite tired in terms of facilities. The room was clean and bed comfortable.

We have stayed here before - when it was a top 10, just for one night & in a cabin. We had a great time & promised the kids we would return. We did & stayed 5 years later, in summer for a week with our friends. We booked together & requested sites next to each other. We arrived & we're given a site in area "B". The sites were very small. We only have a very small caravan (1979 poptop) & awning & we filled the entire width of our site. There was no space for our son to erect his tiny 2 man tent. The people next to us were having similar issues but kindly said we could pitch his tent in a small space between our two sites. The only issue was he kept donking his head on their caravan. Meanwhile, our friends arrived & were given a site far away from us - annoying as we had requested sites together - (area D), in sand, what appeared to be a literal sandpit - It appeared to be not an actual campsite at all - but the demolished area of a former permanent caravan. It was full of rusty nails, broken concrete & you couldn't pitch a tent on it. As it was Wellington anniversary weekend , the campsite was full & they had a large tent (there is no way they could fit on a site where we were). Thankfully, A lady camping near them realized what was happening & offered them a lovely site they had that was extra. We were still camping far from them though. Over the busy weekend, facilities struggled. There appeared to be a lack of toilets & showers for the amount of people there & often weren't overly clean. There was always a queue to use them. However, once everyone left after the long weekend, we were able to move to be by our friends (painful but worth it as we were staying a week). It was lovely once the campground wasn't so busy. We had lovely shaded, grassy sites (our previous one was dusty & dirty) by the playground, which was great for the kids & it was great to be able to use facilities freely. They were lovely & clean once it wasn't so busy. It was enjoyable & relaxing. Bbqs were immaculate & there are lovely BBQ areas that are shaded. Petanque & chess available too. There's a great playground right by the camp with great flying foxes & a pump track which kept them busy for hours. Over the busy weekend, they had a waterslide set up & even gave out free ice cream to the kids one day (real fruit!). Overall - we enjoyed our stay & would return. We just feel more care needs to be given to keep groups together when booking & perhaps to check the size of people's equipment when booking!

We were a family of 5 travelling in a motorhome. It was a great place to stop, showers were great, heater in the shower room made it even more pleasant. The kitchen is large and made cooking dinner and eating a lot more comfortable than in the motorhome which could be a little crowded with 5 of us. The walk on the beach is very nice, very interesting. Highly recommended.

This is a well run holiday park in a uniquely beautiful location. I have stayed here three times - most recently in one of the very cosy 'boat shed' cabins. These units, like the whole site, are spotlessly clean and comfortable. You can sit on the deck and watch the sunrise over the mountains beyond the river estuary. It is only a short walk to the seashore where, later in the day, you can enjoy the sunset. The staff are friendly and obliging, and Foxton Beach seems to be a very friendly place in general.

Pitched our campervan on one of its plots. Fabulous place, the showers are amazing, spotless and really powerful. Receptionist really friendly. Beach a trek across sand dunes but worth it for the empty beach and beautiful location. You can drive to and on the beach instead of walking there. In town had delicious chips and a drink and delicious bruschetta at Tim Tams, local bar/restaurant
