Overall, we were satisfied with the cleanliness of the hotel and sleeping room. The staff were friendly and the complimentary breakfast was good. The hotel is also conveniently located to Carlsbad Caverns National Park (about 25 - 30 minutes). The only thing to be aware of is that there is currently road construction going in the area, so it's a little trickly where to turn in for the hotel entrance. The good news was that it was not noisy during our stay.

Location is next to a construction site and railroad tracks. You have to go through the neighborhood before you can get to the hotel. We booked a king size bed for 2 persons but our daughter decided to join us, so I requested for 2 double beds for 3 persons. Nobody from the hotel returned my email and when we got there the receptionist could not accommodate our request even though there's hardly anybody in the hotel. Otherwise, room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was good.

It was extremely hard to find the hotel based on the GPS directions. The address takes you through a trailer park and over railroad tracks and it’s not safe to drive a regular car through all those dirt roads. I finally called the hotel and they gave me an alternate address to enter but even then, you have to drive through a small dirt road to get to the hotel. The tub/shower wasn’t the cleanest. The shower curtain was also dirty but I failed to get a photo.

Best hotel breakfast ever. The real eggs and real bacon (not powdered and fake like others) were awesome and much appreciated. Such a wide variety of choices and excellent service. The hotel was clean, well decorated, conveniently located and the staff was friendly. It was a great value. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it highly.

Location has management or operations issues. Breakfast bar and staff were sub par. Most items were old or machines not working properly. Cooked food was not prepared properly. Internet hasn’t worked in a week making it impossible to do my job remotely. I will stay elsewhere next trip.

Very Noisy When It Is Windy
Carlsbad is a town of standard hotels, mainly for the oil and gas workers but also for people wishing to visit Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains National Parks. This Best Western is a new-ish hotel built in between workyards on either side, the highwy in front, and a trailer park behind it. If you use a GPS device to get you to the hotel, you will be instructed to drive a bumpy, dirt and gravel road to get to the hotel. Instead, you can drive on to a different street and through the trailer park to get to a paved driveway of sorts that takes you to the hotel. Wonder when they will actually pave what is supposed to be the main street to the hotel. For the most part, the room was comfortable, clean and just your standard hotel room. The staff was friendly. I never ate any of the breakfast offered at 6:30 a.m. The only major problem I found was during windy days (which was basically every day and night), there was something in the building that was apparently not tied down or otherwise loose, because when the wind blew, it sounded like a muffled jackhammer right beneath and to the side of my room. Not even my ear plugs could remove that constant noise. Maybe the oil and gas workers don't mind because they are probably dead tired after a long day out in the field, but families and other travelers would probably get bugged by that annoying noise. Please get it fixed!

The towels and sheets all had yellow stains on them, the floor were sticky, the shower rod was loose and unable to close curtain all the way, and the toilet was loose and could not seat right.

Everything was to my liking, except renting a "non-smoking" room does me little good if I can smell the stench of ********* from other rooms while in my room.
