Sigiriya can get hot during the day, but the moment you step inside the grounds, the air feels cooler and calmer thanks to the little ecosystem they’ve created. The rooms are new, comfortable, and well-kept, and the air conditioning works perfectly. Shady Mango is a true family-run business, and you can feel the care they put into every detail. Sunil is not only a great host but also a guide at Lion Rock, and together with Nayana, they can share local tips and help shape your stay to fit your needs. Sunil also has a TukTuk you can arrange for rides, which makes getting around very easy. From the delicious breakfasts to the comfortable beds, everything about this place is thoughtfully done. I couldn’t recommend it more.

We really enjoyed staying here. The rooms were extremely clean and spacious and this was very much appreciated after our previous hotel. The welcome we received from the owners was genuine and warm, and they prepared us a delicious breakfast each day. WiFi and air conditioning worked well and a good, clean mosquito net was also appreciated. The location was easy walking distance to many restaurants.
