We had been looking for accommodation on Lake Titicaca for a long time - and then decided on Uros Lodge, the best choice ever. What an experience to wake up in the middle of Lake Titicaca on a floating island in this fantastic lodge! A really large room with large glass windows offering an uninterrupted view of the lake - and what a sunrise! An extra "dining room" where the delicious local food is served and the bathroom with hot water (and decent pressure) complete the wonderful lodge. For cold nights there is a gas stove that provides plenty of warmth. Walter was a fantastic host. He took care of everything and organized all things perfectly - from picking us up at the port in Puno and storing our rental car, the half-day trip around the reed islands in his self-built traditional Tortora boat, the day trip to Taquile Island and the move to his brother-in-law's lodge (unfortunately, he was already fully booked for the third night). He is not only a great manager but also someone who is passionate about sharing the culture of the Uros with his guests. Not only did he give us detailed information about the history and customs of the Uros (e.g. using models to show us how the traditional Tortora huts have to be built and maintained), he also showed us his fantastic museum, where he has recreated the flora and fauna of Lake Titicaca - all by hand! It's a shame that this is only accessible to his guests. His hospitality and that of his parents (his mother is really great at cooking with the small traditional ovens) was overwhelming. We left with melancholy! We can only warmly recommend Uros Lodge!

This was one of the most tranquil places we've visited! We ended our busy Peru vacation here and it was perfect. Ivan, the host, was so kind and accommodating, the food was delicious and you could tell a lot of care went into the meals. The sunsets breathtaking, the star gazing out of this world! The rooms were also very comfortable. Beds were delightful with lots of blankets (it gets very cold at night) and an in-room heater that burns evenly all night. The bathrooms were eco bathrooms with solar heat for the water and dry toilets (which takes some getting used to). Ivan took us on a canoe ride and to go visit the Uros village where we got to fish with the locals. A truly eye opening and humbling experience. Would HIGHLY recommend! THANK YOU, Ivan. We will always remember this vacation and the kids haven't stopped talking about it!

We decided to book this wonderful floating island because of the fabulous reviews. The reviews were spot on. A stunning tranquil setting to unwind and enjoy uninterrupted views of the lake. The interior of the home was beautiful with wonderful embroidered linens, cushions and a huge comfy bed. We also enjoyed the outside bed to birdwatch and see the sun go down. Our meals were cooked by Walters mum who served us lovely home cooked, fresh food (catering for vegetarians). Walter made us feel so welcome. He took us out on his traditional reed boat and showed us how he built his island. He is clearly a very skilled man but very modest with it. If you love nature, isolation in a wonderful location then do not hesitate to book Walters home.

It is a good experience on a flowing lodge. The lodge is beautiful and peaceful. We take many photos, from sunset to sunrise. Although they only speak in Spanish, but no communication problem. Service is good, everything is prepared before you ask. I need drop-off to hotel at 06:00 and they has no problem on that. It is really cold on the lake, but not in the room or the lodge. Hot water is adequate. The arranged Uros community visit is excellent. Playing happily with the children living on the Uros island.

We’ve just spent two nights at the lodge ! From the point of us being picked up by Ivan our breath was taken away ! From the dark clear skies full of stars to the Milky Way we headed to the lodge . I was so amazed and I’m never lost for words . Our room was spacious window view of the lake ! All amenities we needed . Food freshly made and more than enough !! We also did a trip to visit the local Uros community that was great too an Ivan took us there . If you like a break away , peaceful , tranquil time away , this is your place to. Thank you to Ivan and his family for making our experience one we will never forget Regards Sangeeta & Vin Mistry UK x

The most magical and simply best accommodation we’ve been to during a 4 months journey through South America. The location is unbeatable. Host Ivan speaks perfect English, he loves sharing about his family, community, lake titikaka and whatever else may interest you. Several activities are included, all guided by Ivan. We’ve learnt a lot from him during our 3 night stay. We stayed in the deluxe king suite which we most highly recommend. But any room really (according to the other travelers we stayed with) are absolutely worth the experience. Ivan will also help you with your arrival and departure (the boat trips are included in the price), and he organises us a fairly priced private transfer to the Bolivian border near Copacabana with a great driver and 4 amazing cultural stops along the way. We couldn’t recommend Ivan and his incredible homestay more highly.
