Easy to book online and they also managed to accommodate my request gif a quite table (I have a hearing implant). The waitress was very friendly and so helpful regarding the menu. She was also aware that I needed a quiet table and check the one they had set up for us was suitable. The Sunday launch was fabulous. Large light and fluffy Yorkshire, perfectly cooked beef. They are prepared to serve you ‘well done’ roast beef (if you ask) which these days seems to be a rarity! A decent selection of vegetables and lovely gravy were also included. We were too full up to eat desserts but the ones that were served to the table next to us looked amazing. There is also a small car park for guests at the back or it is very close to a large car park.I would definitely recommend this pub/restaurant

What a lovely place to go to for Sunday Lunch. They have a good car park and the decor is like a lovely country pub. The food has an excellent choice and cooked to perfection. Prices are very reasonable. The staff make you feel very welcome. We had a lovely young lady called Ellie. She was very attentive and was very patient. Nothing was too much for her. I would be proud to have her on my staff. Very polite and made very comfortable. Very nice to talk to and 100% for customer service. The manager was very friendly and all the staff made you want to come back. All in all a great experience and a must place to visit.

Friendly staff, delicious food, good choice of wine. What more could you want! We recommend the white chocolate & raspberry cheesecake 😜 Nice restaurant on the high street of Maldon. Free car park, remember to add your car registration at the bar.

Went for drinks on new year's day after watching the local traditional hunt ride. Spent a while with friends and family enjoying drinks in a lovely busy atmosphere. The swan has a really nice bar area! Have eaten sunday lunches in here before but this time we just drinks. Staff are friendly and helpful, will return again soon!

Christmas Day Dinner was a disappointment. From being shown our table to receiving the bill for drinks (we had pre paid £95 per head and pre ordered our food) was three and a half hours. between courses it took the staff 30 minutes plus to remove our plates from the table. Food was good but poor organisation.

Absolutely fantastic! Atmosphere was electric, best newyears day iv had in ages! Staff are Absolutely brilliant, service fantastic, food and drink incredible, can't wait to go bk! Definitely recommend, Top notch!

This is the second time I have stayed overnight at the Swan Hotel and was again pleased with my choice. The rooms are well decorated and spacious and shower was decent - always important! There was tea/coffee available in the room and few Borders biscuits to go with your brew. Good fluffy towels and wardrobe space. Only quibble would be around position of power sockets (had to unplug the kettle to charge my phone) and lack of coat hooks in the bedroom but it is an old inn so you expect to have to flex a little... There is a car park on site which is very useful - when we turned up it was full with people visiting the pub for sunday lunch but we just paid the all day Sunday price (£1.70) to park in the public car park behind the pub and moved the car later in the evening. No bother. The bar shuts at 7pm on a Sunday night but when we came back from having dinner with my relatives around 8pm we were able to get one drink as guests of the hotel. We were then advised of other places to get a nightcap in Maldon. There is no onsite breakfast option on Monday morning but we walked less 100m up the high street and had a lovely cooked breakfast at Mrs Salisbury's - which opens at 9am. Will definitely stay again when visiting my relatives.
